Caption:
This short, thick-necked bird is commonly known as the Cattle Egret. True to their name, they forage at the feet of grazing cattle, head bobbing with each step, or ride on their backs to pick at ticks. What is most interesting about this stocky white heron is that only during breeding season, the plumes on its head and neck turn golden and are white again once the season has passed. This photo was taken in Amin Bazar area. Photo: Palash Khan
