LIFE GOES ON BETWEEN HOPE AND DESPAIR… With a child in her lap and another sleeping in a basket covered by an umbrella as a protection from sweltering heat, Jobeda sets up her shop on a road in Karwan Bazar. Every morning, the resolute mother buys vegetables from the kitchen market and sells those at the very spot along with other women. She said she has been doing this for a while to support her five-member family as her day-labourer husband’s income is not enough. She earns around Tk 400-500 a day.
