Man stabbed dead in capital

A man was stabbed to death by unidentified miscreants in Manda area of the capital early today.

Deceased Shahidul Islam, 50, worked as binder for a publishing house at in the city’s Arambagh area.

Shahidul came under the attack when he was going to his Manda house from his workplace for having Sehri around 3:00am, said Mostafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge (investigation) of Mugda Police Station.

The miscreants stabbed him in his leg and chest indiscriminately near his house, the OC said.

Hearing screams, Shahisul’s family members along with locals rescued and rushed him to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where he was declared dead.

Police suspected that Shahidul’s murder was pre-planned as the criminals did not take away his mobile phone and other valuables.
