Man killed, 2 nephews hurt in attack

An elderly man was beaten and hacked to death allegedly by his neighbours over land dispute at Jhanjhaniya village in Sadar upazila of Pirojpur on Thursday night.
Kalam Sharif, 55, a rickshaw-puller and a resident of Jhanjhaniya, died on the way to Khulna Medical College Hospital.
His nephews Nasir Sharif and Mamun Sikder, also injured in the attack, were admitted to Pirojpur Sadar Hospital.
Quoting the victim's family, police said one Ezaz Sarif and five of his relatives suddenly attacked the three with sticks and sharp weapons before a shop.
Pirojpur Sadar police detained three people on the spot for interrogation.
