Celebrating Life introduced the Lifetime Achievement Awards in 2010 with the objective of expressing the respect those who have made significant contributions, each in their own fields, and have enabled their medium to reach a higher level. And this year is no different. The Lifetime Achievement Awards of 2014 go to:

RANI SARKER (FILM)

Rani Sarkar is one of the legendary actresses of our country. She has performed in over 250 films including Talash, Bondhan, Sangma, Titash Ekti Nodir Naam, Chandranath, Shuvoda, Debdas etc. Her most recent appearance has been in the hit movie “Third Person Singular Number”. She is mostly famous for her amazing portrayal of antagonistic characters.
“I don't have any words to express my gratitude!  I have always worked to entertain the people. If anyone throws a stone at me, I'll take it as an appreciation for the many villainous roles I have played over the years. The achievement of my working in this industry is that people know me and they have remembered me. I am very thankful and grateful that I was given the Lifetime Achievement Award”. – Rani Sarkar

SAYEEDA KHANUM

Sayeeda Khanum is considered a pioneer in her field. She was the first female photojournalist of Bangladesh. Her name should also ring a bell for more avid readers of Star Showbiz as we recently covered her extensive collection of Satyajit Ray photographs. Her amazing creativity has led to her recognition in photography. She has already received recognition from many foreign programmes and events of importance to the arena of photography.
“Whenever I get awards, it makes me happy. I have already achieved awards from Germany and Japan, but receiving this year's Lifetime Achievement Award in Bangladesh is what truly fills me with pride and joy and I thank you for this. SHEIKH SADI KHAN
(MUSIC)

Acclaimed musical director Sheikh Sadi Khan was born in a family rich with musical heritage. He joined the Pakistan radio in 1965. He has composed music for cinemas, radio and television. In 1977, he was recognized as a music composer throughout the nation. Many local and Indian singers including Asha Bhosle, Kumar Shanu, Runa Laila, Sabina Yasmin etc. have performed songs composed by him.  
“I've been working in this area for a long time. My creativity has been loved and accepted by the audience. Celebrating Life has been honouring many important individuals with the Lifetime Achievement Awards and I thank them from my heart.
