Flag down hair troubles
For the hopeful brides-to-be; imagine a day right before the wedding that is just going perfect! Everything is in order, from your clutch to the shoes. Looking amused, you gaze into the mirror, and it glances back at you with the perfect picture of a blushing bride. However, within moments of your contemplation, nightmarish thoughts strike in – of frizzy, unmanageable, rough tresses. And the gates for wedding jitters swing wide open.
How can you save yourself from the after-effects of the cruelty that is salon styling for bridal updos... The tons of hairspray, bobby pins, and gels?
Don't worry too much; we always have answers for you...
DIY HAIRSPRAY REMOVER
If the hairspray is used light-handedly, oiling, and shampooing can get rid of it. If not, try going in with a little baking soda with the shampoo and let it sit for 10 minutes, and follow up with regular shampoo. Dish washing soap can also be used as a last resort to get rid of hairspray build-up.
REMOVE TEASES GENTLY
The best medicine is prevention. Ask your hairstylist to go easy on the tease, as too much is not only a bother to fix, but also unpleasing to the eye. Before washing your hair, apply conditioner to the teased parts; let them sit, and then start brushing from the bottom, and work your way up. Do not comb dry as it will cause more damage than good.
SOME EXTRA CARE
Give yourself a mini hot-oil massage before hitting the bed to undo some of the damage invariably done, and probably will be added to by subsequent hair makeovers, no matter how subtle, in post wedding events.
