Ginger peppermint syrup works as an expectorant, it helps loose and expel mucous from the lungs, if you have a bad infection. It will also stop the painful trickle at the back of throat that can trigger a cough.
Chop the ginger and add it along with the peppermint to 4 cups of water. Boil the water on low heat so that the liquid can simmer. Simmer until the liquid has been reduced by half then strain. Let it cool slightly and then stir in 1 cup of honey until dissolved. Take 1 tablespoon every few hours as needed to ease your cough.
