Le Méridien Dhaka brings the taste of Turkey
Olea — Turkish Cuisine by Le Méridien Dhaka is all set to take you back to Ottoman times with the taste of authentic mouth-watering dishes from Turkey. The grand opening of this restaurant took place on 30 July, 2022 with several distinguished guests gracing the event. Besides food, the team of Le Méridien also arranged to celebrate the culture of Turkey with a 5-day entertainment plan.
There are a few things like hummus, kebabs, etc. that come to mind when we say Turkish food. However, the vast selection offered by Olea shows us that these are merely a drop in the ocean. The appetisers or mezze come in a unique combination of fruits, meat, cheese, and vegetables and are a pleasant surprise for your taste buds. As sharing mezze in Turkey represents friendship, bonding and good times, there is something for everyone.
The kebabs come in a variety of lamb, beef, and chicken. The meats are all marinated for hours and then charred over the grill, making them flavourful and melt-in-your-mouth soft. What strikes the most when tasting the kebabs, is the subtle yet significant difference in each of their flavours. Despite being made from the same meat, the Adana kebab is notably spicier than the Urfa. It is safe to say that chef Levent Karahan and his team are determined to bring the very best of Turkey to Dhaka.
With the rising popularity of theme-based restaurants, we are always in search of new and authentic cuisines. In case of Olea, the joint efforts of Fatih Yetgin, Director of F&B and Levent Karahan, along with the team of Le Méridien, have clearly paid off and concluded our search for authentic Turkish cuisine.
