TraumaLink expands up to 115 Kilometres
TraumaLink, a volunteer-based free emergency first aid service system, has expanded its area of operation by 15 kms on the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway, in Gazaria-Munshiganj area, on 12 December, 2018. This is the first organisation in Bangladesh that provides free Emergency First Aid Service on the highways of Bangladesh, as voluntary services, with the help of local people. Their service model utilises a hotline number, a 24/7 call centre, and volunteer first responders recruited from the local community who are trained in basic first aid and provided with necessary medical equipment.
As of now, TraumaLink has 450 volunteers, who have attended to more than 750 incidents, and provided emergency first aid service to around 2000 patients.
