Bangladesh requests Jordan to ease visa process for its tourists
Bangladesh has requested Jordan to ease visa procedure for Bangladeshi tourists as part of the greater goal to enhance tourism and economic cooperation.
Bangladesh Ambassador to Jordan Nahida Sobhan made the request when she called on Jordanian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Nayef Al Fayez today.
They discussed in detail about the participation of Bangladeshis in the tourism industry of Jordan.
Nahida Sobhan said that Bangladesh, as an economically emerging country in South Asia, is interested in enhancing cooperation with Jordan.
She said travel-loving Bangladeshis tour different countries in Asia, Middle East as well as Europe, America and Africa.
"If travel procedures are eased for Bangladeshi travellers, many tourists from Bangladesh would be able to visit Jordan every year to visit the historical and religious places," Nahida Sobhan told Nayef Al Fayez.
Nayef Al Fayez said that the tourism industry plays an important role in Jordan's economy and that the government is particularly interested in expanding this industry.
The Jordanian government invites citizens of any country in the world, including Bangladesh, to visit Jordan, he said, expressing interest in working together to ease the travel procedures for tourists from Bangladesh.
He stressed on the inclusion of renowned and reliable private sectors who are working in tourism sectors.
He further added that a tour for print and electronic media journalists and private tour operators from Bangladesh can be considered for familiarising them with Jordan's tourist attractions.
They both agreed to review the possibility of signing of an agreement or MoU aimed at expanding the tourism industry in Bangladesh and Jordan.
