The unsettled issue
Tamils have the right to live in peace and harmony in Sri Lanka. However, history is testament to the ethnic Tamils' unfortunate treatment in Sri Lanka.
A large number of civilians had fled the war zone and started migrating as refugees to the southern parts of India. Such an exodus may lead to a big humanitarian crisis. In this context, the Sri Lankan government should take urgent steps to prevent the looming crisis in the region, while also facilitating rehabilitation for the displaced.
