Kid abducted from Srimangal rescued in Habiganj
A four-year-old boy, abducted from Srimangal upazila town of the district on Thursday, was rescued in Purbopahar area under Nabiganj upazila of Habiganj on Friday.
Law enforcers also arrested one of the abductors named Liton Ahmed Mojumder, 45, of Dinarpur village in the upazila.
A gang of criminals picked up Nahiyan Al-amin Nahid, son of Nurul Amin of Mushlimbagh area in Srimangal town, from near a shop in the area at around 10:00am.
Later, the gang phoned Nurul Amin, demanding Tk five lakh from him to release his son, said Ashrafur Alam, ASP (circle) of Moulvibazar. Nurul Islam filed a case with Srimangal Police Station the same day.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided a Jungle in Purbopara area at around 6:00pm on Friday and rescued Nahid, the ASP said, adding that the law enforcers arrested one of the gang members while the rest managed to flee.
Officer-in-Charge Abdul Jalil of Srimangal Police Station said they have launched a drive to arrest the other culprits involved.
