Rapid Action Battalion (Rab)-1 picked up Sajedul Islam Suman, 35, and five others at a house in Bashundhara residential area around 8:15pm that day, family members alleged. Six hours later, the force allegedly picked up three more at Shaheenbagh, they added.
Khoka said the force might have got them disappeared at the instruction of ruling Awami league high-ups. Such disappearances and secret killings of opposition men is unacceptable, he told reporters while visiting Suman's residence at Shaheenbagh in the afternoon.
