Khaleda skips discussion on BNP’s founding anniversary
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia today did not show up though she was scheduled to attend a discussion and cultural programme in the capital on the occasion of the party’s 36th founding anniversary.
This is for the second time Khaleda has skipped her programme in less than two weeks. Earlier on August 19, she was due to address a rally of the BNP-led 20-party alliance at Suhrawardy Uddin in the capital but she did not turn up finally.
A special chair was reserved for Khaleda at the programme and her name was inscribed on the back screen of the stage as the chief guest of the programme.
“She usually becomes the chief guest of BNP’s programmes. But, the madam did not confirm her presence when I wanted to know about it last night,” Maruf Kamal Khan Sohel, press secretary to Khaleda, told The Daily Star this evening.
