JCD man stabbed by rivals in Sylhet

A Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal activist of Sylhet city unit was stabbed allegedly by rivals at the city's Fazilchist yesterday afternoon.

Ujjal Ahmed, a follower of ward no-8 unit's Convener Afsar Ahmed Khan, was admitted to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.

Ujjal was asked to join the faction of another activist Nabil Ahmed of the unit some days ago, but he denied, JCD sources said.

Following the denial, his rivals attacked him when he was alone in the area around 4:30pm, they said.

Confirming the incident, Kotwali police Officer-in-charge Md Asaduzzaman said they were investigating the matter.

Despite repeated attempts, Nabil could not be contacted as his mobile was found switched-off.
