JCD calls indefinite strike at JnU

Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), student wing of BNP, called for an indefinite strike today at Jagannath University to begin from February 10, demanding immediate removal of its vice chancellor Dr Mizanur Rahman, blaming him for being partisan.
“We will go for an indefinite strike at the JnU from February 10 as its VC has already failed to ensure co-existence of the activists of all political parties in the campus,” Faisal Ahmed Sajol president of the JCD JnU unit and its general secretary Omar Faruk Munna said this in a statement this afternoon.
Terming the VC as partisan, the JCD leaders said the leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League, student front of the ruling Awami League, are committing all sorts of criminal activities on the campus while the VC is masterminding them from behind.
The JCD leaders said three students of the JnU disappeared on December 10, 2013 from the university campus but the VC did not take any measure to ensure their whereabouts.
