Jamalpur Jubo Dal leader dies

A union-level leader of Jubo Dal, youth wing of BNP, of Jamalpur who was critically wounded after he was allegedly hacked by local Jubo League men by sharp weapons, succumbed to his wounds on Sunday night.

Sujon, 40, a member of Bhatara union Jubo Dal convening committee in Sharishabari upazila died while he was being transferred to Dhaka from Mymensingh Medical College Hospital around 11:00pm, Kamrul Ehsan, officer-in-charge of Sharishabari Police Station told The Daily Star.

The victim was admitted to the MMCH after he had been indiscriminately hacked by sharp weapons by a group of unidentified men around 4:45pm in Joynagar area of the union, the OC said.

Local Jubo League men attacked Sujon over political rivalry after they picked him up from Baoshira area, quoting family sources reports our Jamalpur correspondent.
