India take rollball crowns

India emerged champions in both men's and women's group of the Sheikh Russel South Asian Rollball Championships which concluded at the Dhanmondi Basketball Gymnasium yesterday.
In the men's final, India beat Pakistan 5-2 while in the women's final, India outplayed Nepal by 7-1 goals to grab double crown in the six-nation meet.
Meanwhile, both the men's and women's teams of Bangladesh finished third. The men's team beat Nepal by 2-1 goals in the third place-deciding match.
Veer Pratap Singh of India became the highest-scorer while Ajeet Singh was adjudged the best player in the men's competition.
