India suspends most passenger, postal trains, inter-state bus services till March 31
To check the spread of coronavirus, India today announced a halt to movement of most trains and inter-state buses till March 31, our New Delhi correspondent reports.
The Indian government also ordered a lockdown of 75 districts across the country, which has reported 324 positive coronavirus cases and six deaths so far.
Meanwhile, the West Bengal government today ordered a lockdown of all municipal towns and cities in the state from tomorrow afternoon.
The suspension on trains includes those on premium trains, mail and express trains, suburban trains and Kolkata metro rail.
However, bare minimum level of services of suburban trains and Kolkata metro shall continue up to March 22.
However, movement of goods trains would continue to ensure supply of essentials across the country.
