Photography exhibition concludes

A week long photography exhibition, organised by Alokchitra Shilpi Sangsad (ASHIS) at its office auditorium, concluded today.
The exhibition marking Victory Day celebrations, was the 47th such exhibition of ASHIS. A large number of guests, old and young, visited the exhibition every day.
Over 200 photographs of the Liberation War, nature, history and daily life of the masses were displayed at the exhibition. By far the most riveting were 40 photographs taken by internationally reputed photographer late Naibuddin Ahmed. The photographs on historic buildings in and around the town also made the exhibition worth it for visitors.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner of Mymensingh Mustakim Billah Faruqui inaugurated the event as chief guest.
Among others, former vice-chancellor of Bangladesh Agricultural University Professor Shah Mohammad Faruq; Mymensingh Police Superintendent Mainul Haque; District Cooperative Officer Horidas Thakur; deputy keeper of Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin Sangrahashala (art gallery) Dr. Bijoy Krishna Banik and  Ashis vice-president Subudh Chandra Chanda addressed the gathering.
Ashis secretary AHM Motalab delivered the welcome speech.
The speakers were of the view that the authentic photographs of the Liberation War could combat the evil elements who distorted history for their own ends.
