Hockey team to play 3 practice games in Aug
The national hockey team will play three practice matches against Dhyan Chand Hockey Academy of India in August as part for their preparations for the World Hockey League (Round-1) and the Asian Games, both to be held in September.
The matches will take place on August 6, 8 and 10 at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP) where the Bangladesh national hockey team have been training for the last month and a half under the supervision of Pakistani coach Naveed Alam.
“The Indian Academy side will arrive here on August 4 to play three practice matches against Bangladesh ahead of the World Hockey League (to be held in Dhaka from September 5-7) and Asian Games (to be held in South Korea from September 19 to October 3),” said Bangladesh Hockey Federation joint secretary Anvir Adil Khan yesterday.
Khan also informed the players will enjoy a week's holiday for Eid ul Fitr from July 26 till the camp resumes on August 3.
