Hartal in Dhaka, 13 adjoining districts tomorrow

BNP’s student front Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal today called daylong hartal tomorrow for Dhaka and 13 other adjoining districts protesting confinement of their Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
However, the capital city will remain out of the hartal purview.
The hartal will be effective in Dhaka, Narayanganj, Gazipur, Tangail, Narsinghdi, Munshiganj, Manikganj, Comilla, Brahmanbaria, Kishoreganj, Mymensingh, Sherpur, Jamalpur and Netrokona districts, said a press release of the JCD.
The press release, signed by Md Abdus Sattar Patwary, office secretary of JCD, did not specify the duration of the hartal (shutdown) that is expected to commence from 6:00am tomorrow.
The shutdown will be effective on top of a countrywide non-stop blockade programme sponsored by the BNP-led 20-party alliance which entered sixth day today.
Chhatra Dal central President Rajib Ahsan and General Secretary Akramul Hasan called out to all local JDC units concerned to “make tomorrow’s hartal a success.”
