Greens urge all to save environment
Environmentalists and academicians yesterday urged the people to come forward to resist the interest groups involved in anti-environment activities.
They said there was no alternative to protecting the country's rivers, forests and other natural habitats for maintaining the environmental balance.
So, the government as well as the people must be more pro-active to ensure a safe environment through creating awareness countrywide, they told a seminar, "Environment Movement and Organisation: Bangladesh Perspective", in the capital's WVA auditorium.
The programme was organised by Bangladesh Poribesh Andolon (Bapa) and Bangladesh Poribesh Network (BEN).
