Read out anti-terror sermon
The Islamic Foundation authorities have urged mosques across the country to follow the sermon to be delivered at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque during Juma prayers today, reports UNB.
The call came following the recent terrorist attacks at Holey Artisan Bakery in the capital and at Sholakia Eid congregation in Kishoreganj that left more than two dozen people killed.
The common sermon (khutba) has been formulated in efforts to create awareness against terrorism and militancy.
The foundation released it on Thursday and urged all mosques to recite it during Juma prayers.
“We have decided to recite the khutba during Juma prayers at the national mosque Baitul Mukarram tomorrow [today],” the foundation's Director General Sahmim Md Afzal told The Daily Star.
He said Islam does not support terrorism and militancy. “Killing people in the name of religion is totally inconsistent with Islam.”
