Covid-like Symptoms: 6 more die in 5 dists
At least six people died of Corvid-19-like symptoms in five districts in the last two days, while four tested positive for coronavirus in four districts yesterday.
Meanwhile, local administrations yesterday locked down three districts and two upazilas to prevent the spread of the virus.
Health officials have collected samples of the deceased for tests, report our correspondent after talking to the officials concerned.
In Narayanganj, a 48-year-old man died of Covid-19-like symptoms at his residence at Charpara area under Kanchan municipality yesterday morning.
In Laxmipur, a 25-year-old man died of fever and diarrhoea at his residence in Saheberhat union under Kamolnagar upazila yesterday morning.
Besides, a 55-year-old madrasa teacher died of Covid-19 symptoms in the district's Sadar Hospital on Thursday evening. He was a resident of Charjangaliya village under Kamalnagar upazila.
In Dinajpur, a 75-year-old man died of Covid-19-like symptoms at Deor village under Birampur Upazila on Thursday night.
In Joypurhat, a 21-year-old man died of flu-like symptoms at Poulunja village under Khetlal Upazila on Thursday morning.
In Feni, a 60-year-old man, who returned home from Narayanganj on March 24, died of Coronavirus-like symptoms at his residence at Shibpur village under Sadar upazila on Thursday night.
In Cumilla, the district administration locked down the entire district from 3:00pm yesterday until further notice to prevent the risk of spreading coronavirus.
Besides, a 50-year-old man Biramkandi in Korikandi union under Titash upazila of Cumilla has been tested positive for coronavirus.
In Gaibandha, the district's coronavirus control and prevention committee led by the deputy commissioner locked down the entire district from 5:00pm yesterday.
In Noakhali, the local administration yesterday announced that the entire district would be put under lockdown from 6:00am today until further notice.
In Patuakhali, local administration yesterday locked down Dumki upazila until further notice. Besides, three doctors of Patuakhali General Hospital have been kept in quarantine as they came in contact with a Covid-19 infected patient.
In Barguna, the district's Amtoli upazila was locked down from 2:00pm yesterday until further notice.
In Gopalganj, a 21-year-old man and his wife of a village in Borni union under Tungipara upazila tested positive for coronavirus.
This is the first confirmed case in the district.
In Brahmanbaria, a 65-year-old man tested positive for coronavirus in Nabinagar upazila, the first confirmed case in the district.
In Gazipur, a worker of an agro-feed factory has been tested positive for coronavirus in Dasu Narayanpur area under Kapasia upazila.
