Fratricide, man killed by wife, son

A man was beaten to death allegedly by his younger brother following a dispute over the boundary line of a piece of land yesterday at Sarkerpara village in Sundarganj upazila.
Locals said, diseased Mohammed Ali, 75, had a longstanding conflict with step brother Lal Mia, 34.
Yesterday noon, the quarrel took a serious turn after an altercation and at one stage Lal Mia hit Mohammed Ali with a stick, causing his death on the spot.
Being informed, police rushed to the spot and arrested Lal Mia and his son Mahabubur Rahman.

In Tangail, an old man was beaten to death allegedly by his wife and son over a land-related dispute at Habibpur village in Gopalpur upazila on Thursday evening.
The deceased was identified as Julhash Uddin, 65, a teacher of a local madrasa at the village, reports UNB.
Police said, an altercation ensued between Julhash and his wife Monwara and son Khokon over a land-related dispute on Thursday evening.
At one stage, Khokon and Monwara beat up Julhash mercilessly, leaving him critically injured.
Later he died on the way to hospital.
Police could not arrest anyone as Monwara and his two sons went into hiding after the incident.
