For sore throats
It’s that time again, seasons are changing and the rumble in the skies we are likely to hear within a month will soon be echoed in the rumble of clearing throats as people are caught by the sore throat bug. It will happen, we are not wishing anyone any ills, but it's just the way the story goes. So in anticipation of your troubles, here are a few tips that are worth remembering and should help you overcome your ailment.
Do not suppress coughs: Holding in the coughing will make it harder to get rid of. If you don't the next time you cough will be more painful. If you are in a meeting or public space, excuse yourself and let it out.
Hot showers and rest: The steam vapours help clear your sinuses, which are often the cause of a sore throats. Resting is also very important, but once you feel better try to stay upright unless you're sleeping, because you will find that it'll reduce a lot of the congestion.
Drink warm water
The elders say it for a reason. It will help by stretching the muscles in your throat, and it won't hurt as much when you cough (even if it seems horrible, it works).
