Fire at Korail slum
At least five makeshift structures, including two rickshaw garages, were gutted by a fire that broke out inside Korail slum at Mohakhali in Dhaka early Friday.
Fire Service control room sources said the fire originated from an electric short circuit in a small structure at around 4:44am.
Eight firefighting units rushed to the spot and doused the flame around 5:12am, said Inspector Shahjadi Sultana of the fire service control room.
She said two rickshaw garages, two small grocery shops, one tea stall and one semi-pucca house burnt down in the incident.
But no casualty was reported in the fire incident, Inspector Shahjadi added.
