- Two-day parliamentary meeting of People’s Party begins with Bhutto in the chair. After the inaugural meeting, Abdul Hafiz Pirzada says every member of the party elected in National and four Provincial Assemblies have agreed to submit their resignations to Bhutto at freewill to stand by the party’s policy regarding governance policy based on the 6-point demand.
- Maulana Mufti Mahmud, general secretary of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam after a meeting with President Yahya Khan at Rawalpindi, says the future governance policy must ensure national unity and solidarity. He says modes of currency, trade and tax in the 6-point should be reshuffled for the national interest. He says to discuss issues related to governance policy with Sheikh Mujib, he would go to Dhaka with Maulana Ghulam Gaus, general secretary of West Pakistan Jamiat and other West Pakistani leaders.
