DoE demolishes six brick kilns in Chattogram

Department of Environment (DoE), Chattogram today demolished six brick kilns that were being illegally operated in Chattogram.

Of the six kilns, three were demolished in Satkania upazila, two in Hathazari upazila and one in Patiya upazila.

Zamir Uddin, deputy director of DoE Chattogram (district) told The Daily Star the brick kilns violated conditions stipulated in Environment Conservation Act-2012.

"This violation prompted us to launch the drive which will continue", he added.
