Victory Day 2021: Special programmes to watch

Shure Shure Shubornojoyonti

Commemorating the 50th Victory Day of Bangladesh today, The Daily Star has listed a variety of television specials that audiences can enjoy. 

ATN Bangla will air a special musical event, titled "Shure Shure Shubornojoyonti" at 8 pm. The show is conceptualised by Ansar and VDP Team, and directed by Selim Doula Khan and Faysal Mahmud. Noted singer Rafiqul Alam will host the show. During 1971, Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra used to broadcast songs for motivating the freedom fighters. Choosing five such patriotic songs, the orchestra team of Ansar and VDP has organised the show at Savar.

BanglaVision will air "Bijoyer Ponchaash," a special discussion programme about the difficult days of the Liberation War in 1971. The final episode of the programme will air at 10.10 am and 5 pm. Special guests will include Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque and musician Debolina Sur. The show will begin with guests discussing the background of the Liberation War and its effects on Bangladesh, which will be hosted by Shimul Mustafa. The show is being produced by Rafiqul Islam. 

Oprajita
Gourob 71

A single-episode fiction, titled "Birangona" will be televised on Boishakhi TV at 10 pm. Written by Tipu Alam Milon and directed by Shuddhoman Choitan, the show features Aparna Ghosh, Rownak Hasan, Manoj Pramanik, Riya Khan, Monir Zaman, Sanjida Mila and others. The story of "Birangona" revolves around the struggles and sufferings of a war heroine named Moyurjaan, whose husband decides to join the Liberation War to gain nation's independence. The challenges and hurdles faced by her during and after the Liberation War, is the main gist of this drama. National Award winning actress Aparna Ghosh will be seen as Moyurjaan in the show. 

Birangona

On the special occasion, Ekushey TV has arranged a special talk show, titled "Gourob 71" hosted by freedom fighter and renowned actor Pijush Bandyopadhay. The special guest will be Padma Shri awardee Lt. Colnel (retd.) Quazi Sazzad Ali Zahir, who will be sharing stories of the Liberation War while appreciating the bravery and courage of the freedom fighters. A special tele-fiction titled "Din Chirodin" will be televised at 10 pm. Written and directed by A D Dulal, the drama will star Shahiduzzaman Selim, Sushama Sarker, Farzana Rikta, Shahrier Motaleb and others. 

Robir Abir

Maasranga Television will air a special tele-fiction at 10.30 pm, titled "Robir Abir". Written by Elina Shammi and directed by Aronno Polash, the show features Mosharraf Karim, Elina Shammi, Kazi Raju and others. It is set in the Liberation War period and the story revolves around the lives of two brothers, Habib and Forhad, whose life go through unexpected changes due to the Liberation War. 

Marking the 50th Victory Day, NTV will televise the special tele-fiction, "Oporajita" on December 17 at 9:30 pm. Written by Tushar Abdullah and directed by Tuhin Hasan, "Oporajita" stars Tawsif Mahbub, Tanjin Tisha, A K Azad Shetu, Rasheda Rakhi and others.
