Three commissioners resign before Television Programme Producers Association election

The election of the biggest association for television programmes of Bangladesh, Television Programme Producers Association, is going to be held on December 11.
Just before the occasion, three election commissioners, Naresh Bhuiyan, Brindabon Das, and Masum Aziz, backed out from their responsibilities. They confirmed the news to The Daily Star.
Their resignation letters have been sent to the appellate section.
"We didn't want to complicate things further, thus we have submitted our resignations, detailing all the reasons," said Brindabon Das.
The schedule for the election had already been announced. The candidacy of 15 members were disqualified, creating a dispute in the association.
Eminent actor Khairul Alam Sabuj is the head of the appellate section for the election.
Earlier, a request of reconsideration was sent to the head of the appellate section for giving the candidacies back. After the hearing, a request to halt the election process until November 30 was also requested.
"We have taken the decision mutually, and it is really defamatory to run the election process in this manner," said Naresh Bhuiyan.
Khairul Alam Sabuj is currently busy with shooting for the film, "Bangabandhu". The Daily Star tried to reach him over the phone, but his wife informed that he left his phone at home.
