Everyone has the right to say no: Sunerah backs out from “Joy Banglar Dhoni”
Actor Sunerah Binte Kamal has backed out from the liberation war-based film "Joy Banglar Dhoni", directed by K M Khurshid. The story of this film is written by former Minister of Shipping, Shajahan Khan. The shooting will start from November 1.
A press conference was held at the capital's Gulshan area on Wednesday, to announce details of the film. Although the cast and crew of the film were present at the press meet, there was no sign of Sunerah. Later, it was known that she won't be doing the film.
"I have decided not to do the film due to some disagreements with the director. After reading the script sent to me, I talked to the director about changing the lineup of my characters. I didn't like the one sent later either. There is some confusion about that," Sunerah told The Daily Star.
Even so, Sunerah said that she wanted to do the film. She said that if the director had said it in a 'civil' way, she would have still done the film.
"The director talked to me rudely and threatened me. He could have behaved well with me. This is why I don't want to do the film," she added.
A while ago, the actress posted her official resignation on social media.
Sunerah was supposed to portray the character Tara in both her youth and old age, opposite actor Nirab Hossain in the film.
Apart from this, Asaduzzaman Noor is playing the character of Shombhu Rajakar. The role will be portrayed in two timelines, his youth and old age.
The film will depict the powerful tale of the fight for independence. "Joy Banglar Dhoni" is expected to release in 2023.
