Shabnam stuck in Pakistan due to Covid restrictions
A renowned actress of the 60's, Shabnam has been a part of both Bangladeshi and Pakistani cinema. She rose to fame with the Urdu film, 'Chanda', after which she never had to look back.
Shabnam is now residing in Lahore, Pakistan and is staying in a friend's residence. "I came here for a vacation, but I can't return now due to Covid-19 restrictions", says the veteran actress over the phone, to The Daily Star. "My return ticket was confirmed for July 26, but all travel has been restricted for now."
Three months ago, she reached the country and stayed at a fan's place, after which she had the opportunity to meet many friends and well-wishers there.
In her illustrious career spanning 50 years, Shabnam has acted in over 180 films, gaining fame both home and abroad.
She had started her journey with the film "Harano Din" in 1961, after which she did not have to look back. Her last memorable role was in the blockbuster film "Ammajaan".
