‘Rehana Maryam Noor’ gets uncut censor certificate
Abdullah Mohammad Saad directorial and Azmeri Haque Badhon starrer "Rehana Maryam Noor" has received the uncut censor certificate from Bangladesh Film Censor Board.
A member of the censor board, who does not wish to disclose his identity, confirmed the news to The Daily Star.
"After watching the film, the censor board authorities decided to allow the release of the movie without any cuts. The "Rehana Maryam Noor" team will receive the censor certificate by next week," mentioned the censor board member.
The film was submitted to the Bangladesh Film Censor Board for approval on Sunday.
"Rehana Maryam Noor" has already garnered international acclaim at the 74th Cannes Film Festival, with its hard-hitting concept. The movie, which was featured in the "Un Certain Regard" section received a standing ovation, during its premiere at Cannes.
The critically acclaimed film also reached another milestone, as it was selected for the Debate section of the 65th British Film Institute of London Film Festival, which is due to run from October 6 to 17. In addition, it is one of the three Bangladeshi films to be selected for the 26th Busan International Film Festival.
