Month-long Liberation War Film Festival commences in 12 districts
Bangladesh Film Archive and Arun Film Society organised a month-long Liberation War-based film festival in 17 upazilas of 12 districts.
The festival was inaugurated by special guests and prominent personalities yesterday (November 8) at Matlab Upazila auditorium.
Dr Shamsul Alam, Hon'ble Minister of State for Planning, was present as the chief guest while Md Nurul Amin, Hon'ble Member of Parliament and Md Nizamul Kabir Director General, Bangladesh Film Archive were the special guests at the programme.
The film festival will feature 30 full-length films, 11 documentaries on the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and seven documentaries on the Liberation War.
The inauguration ceremony opened with Tareque Masud's "Muktir Gaan", Zahir Raihan's "Stop Genocide" and Humayun Ahmed's "Aguner Poroshmoni".
The festival will be showcased at various districts such as Chandpur, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Pabna, Barishal, Pathuakhali, Sirajganj, Jamalpur, Mymensingh, and Meherpur among others.
