Mani Ratnam hospitalised after testing positive for Covid-19
Mani Ratnam, who is preparing to release his much-anticipated "Ponniyin Selvan part 1", was taken to a private hospital on Tuesday after experiencing some Covid-related symptoms in the previous few days.
According to reports, Ratnam tested positive for the new coronavirus, and is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital.
"Ponniyin Selvan", based on Kalki's eponymous epic novel, was produced by Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies. The film will be distributed by Lyca Productions. The first installment will be released in theaters globally on September 30. The trailer for the film was revealed earlier this month during a big launch event in Chennai.
Before he tested positive for the virus, he was busy with the post-production work of "Ponniyin Selvan: 1".
