Filmmaker Hashibur Reza Kallol, also Consulting Editor of The Daily Star multimedia, has won in the 'Rising Film Director from Bangladesh' category at the Global Fame Awards 2021 in India's Kolkata yesterday.

The award celebrated outstanding achievers from different fields and from different parts of the country.

Kallol received the award from Bollywood star Bipasha Basu, who graced the programme as a special guest. A cultural programme was also arranged at the venue, followed by an award ceremony.

Kallol is an accomplished director, producer, and screenwriter, who has worked with multiple television channels throughout his career. He is best known for his film "Swatta", featuring Shakib Khan and Paoli Dam.
