Dr Enamul Haque’s autobiography in the works
Ekushay Padak awardee Dr Enamul Haque has been keeping away from the sets since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, despite being offered numerous projects. The actor is currently focusing on writing and has been working on his autobiography.
Besides his autobiography, the writer is also translating various dramas written by legendary playwrights around the world, including the ones from Ireland, Norway, England, and USA, among others. "I have recently completed my translations of works by Samuel Beckett and John Millington Synge," he mentions.
Dr Enamul Haque has also been working on his autobiography simultaneously and has finished writing about his childhood. "Numerous old rusty memories have begun to surface and I want them all to be a part of this book," shares the actor. "I have also been reading a lot, especially essays, biographies, and autobiographies as they inspire me to work more keenly on mine."
Dr Enamul Haque debut acting with the tele-fiction "Mukhora Romoni Boshikoron", produced by Mustafa Monwar in 1968. He started off as a writer in the same year. To date, he has authored over 60 television dramas. His most famous works include "Oneekdiner Ekdin", "Sheishob Dingulo", "Nirjon Shoikot", and "Ke Ba Apon Ke Ba Por". His notable theatrical productions include "Bibaho Uthshob", and "Grihobash".
"My friend Abdullah Al Mamun has inspired me to start writing for the television and till date, I enjoy writing very much indeed. I feel I have a lot to do in this field and hope to accomplish all I have aimed for," he concludes.
