New songs commemorating PM Sheikh Hasina’s birthday
Today (September 28) marks the 75th birth anniversary of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina. To celebrate the auspicious occasion, a number of songs are being released throughout the day. Besides airing on Bangladesh Betar and BTV, the tracks will be available online as well.
Five of the tracks were composed by the Ekushey Padak winning music director, Shujeyo Shyam.
Prominent singers who have lent their voices in these tracks are -- Yousuf Ahmed Khan (Dushshoper Ghor Kete), Nishita Barua and Sabbir Zaman (Banglar Ghore Ghore Poth Ghat Prantore), Priyanka (Baba Beche Thakle), Dinat Jahan Munni and Haimanti Rakshit Das (Apono Mohimate Tobuo Bangladesh), and Kamal Ahmed (Bangabandhu Bangamata Bangakonya Tumi).
Another song titled Shubho Shubho Din, composed and penned by Bayezid Khurshid Riaz, has been released on YouTube. Noted singers Mohammad Khurshid Alam, Rafiqul Alam and Fahmida Nabi have lent their voices to the track.
Renowned music director Ibrar Tipu collaborated with former Channel i Shera Kontho winner Zanita Ahmed Zhilik for the song Shubho Jonmodin. The song, which is written by Jamal Hossain, is available on YouTube.
Director Masud Pathik of "Maya, The Lost Mother" fame, has also written a song in honour of the Prime Minister. Annan Khan voices the song.
A special musical programme will be telecast on BTV today at 7 pm. Singers Somnur Monir Konal and Dinat Jahan Munni among others will perform.
