Chirkut and Alliance Française to raise funds for Sylhet
Today marks yet another World Music Day, and on this occasion, Alliance Française has organised a concert to celebrate the annual event. The show will feature a special performance by Chirkut, and will also be raising funds for the victims of the flood in Sylhet and Sunamganj.
The concert will begin at 7:30 PM today at the Alliance Française De Dhaka Dhanmondi courtyard. Chirkut's performance will go on for an hour and a half.
This concert will be open to all, with no tickets being required to enter the venue. However, there are limited seats inside the venue.
World Music Day originates in France, where the idea was introduced by France's Minister of Culture, Jack Lang in the year 1981. Since then, hundreds of countries around the world celebrate World Music Day on June 21.
