You have done us proud
Bangladesh cricket team has made history trouncing India by six wickets in the second ODI and sealing the historic series with a match in hand. The victory against one of the giants of the cricketing world has not only enhanced our prestige but confirmed our place in the Champions Trophy 2017.
Clearly, Bangladesh dominated over the fancied Indian team in all the departments of the game to win their first bilateral ODI series. The win comes hard on the heels of the Tigers' victory against Pakistan, a former World Champion whom Bangladesh thrashed 3-0 two months ago. Rejuvenated, the Tigers went on to perform as a unified team against India. The highlight of the game has been Bangladesh's wonder boy Mustafizur Rahman whose off-cutters ripped through the middle order of the Indians, bundling the twice world champions to a getable 200 runs. Mustafiz's striking performance with the ball was superbly complemented by the batsmen who reached their target with delectable ease in 38 overs.
The victory unifies us in joy and glory, giving us a soul-stirring leap of the mind. Bangladesh's cricket has indeed come a long way and has a longer way to go. From the whipping boy of the cricketing world, it has become a giant slayer. It is now time to consolidate the strengths and work on the weaknesses to emerge as a force to reckon with. We should take the winning streak into the last ODI with India and go forward to the series with South Africa. There is no looking back.
