Disclose money depositors' names with Swiss banks

The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) yesterday demanded that the government disclose the names of persons, who deposited money with Swiss banks, and put them on trial under the money laundering prevention law.
The prime minister told parliament that the money deposited with Swiss banks would be brought back to the country for its development, but her promise will not be implemented when it will be found that the money launderers are the ruling party men, SCBA President Khandker Mahbub Hossain said.
He made the comments while presenting a written statement at a press conference at the SCBA auditorium yesterday afternoon.
Khandker Mahbub, an adviser to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, said the ruling party men had claimed that money was laundered abroad during the tenure of BNP government.
The SCBA president also said members of Khaleda Zia's family had neither deposited money with Swiss banks nor laundered money abroad. SCBA Secretary AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon spoke.
