Dhaka, Delhi identify 12 areas to boost trade
Bangladesh and India have identified 12 areas to boost bilateral trade, which will be discussed at a meeting in Dhaka today.
The meeting will be chaired by Finance Minister AMA Muhith at his ministry where Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed will also be present.
The two countries identified the focus areas after discussions at government level, with the related ministries asked to prepare a report on the status of the areas, a commerce ministry official said.
The issues on the agenda at today's meeting include introduction of Banglabandha-Fulbaria check post, Burimari-Chengrabandha land port development, Nakugaon-Dhalu land port development, Tamabil-Dauki land port development, strengthening rail communication, setting up more ports of call on the Brahmaputra, introduction of air links between Dhaka and Guwahati and setting up more border haats.
