Death anniversary

Today is the 27th death anniversary of Abdul Malek Ukil,a Liberation War organiser and former president of Awami League, says a press release.
A close aide to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, he was also a speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad and was an opposition leader in the then East Pakistan provincial council.
On this occasion, a milad mahfil will be held at his village home in Noakhali.
