Ctg youth detained for Facebook posts against PM, son
Locals in Hathazari upazila of Chittagong caught a youth and handed him over to police for allegedly posting and sharing derogatory comments and photos against the prime minister, her son and the railway minister.
The locals alleged that Md Amran alias Titumir Amran, 23, had been posting comments on Facebook against Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy and Railway Minister Mujibul Haque for a long time.
Md Mohim, a local, said Titumir had earlier been warned but he did not pay heed and continued commenting and sharing derogatory posts.
Police said Titumir, who works as a pipe fitter, is an activist of Hefazate Islam, reports our Chittagong correspondent.
The police this morning sent him to court showing him arrested in a vandalism case of 6 May, 2013 as an activist of the Hefazate Islam.
Asked whether any case would be filed against him for his Facebook posts, Md Ismail, officer-in-charge (OC) of Hathazari Police Station, said the decision to file the case would be taken after further investigation.
