CSE chairman to head South Asian exchanges' body
Muhammad Abdul Mazid has recently been adopted as the president the South Asian Federation of Exchanges (SAFE) with the acceptance of his nomination by the SAFE Secretariat, the CSE said in a statement yesterday.
Mazid is the chairman of the demutualised Chittagong Stock Exchange Ltd (CSE) and former chairman of the National Board of Revenue.
CSE is one the founder members of SAFE with its permanent position in the SAFE Executive Committee, and it currently holds the position of chairperson at the federation.
SAFE is a not-for-profit association, having the “recognised body” status of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation. It is a network exchange association of the World Federation of Exchanges, according to the statement.
