Prison guard detained with yaba pills in Kashimpur jail
A prison guard of Kashimpur Central Jail-1 in Gazipur was arrested with 328 yaba pills last night.
The arrestee Pintu Miah is from Gorail village in Dhamrai upazila of Dhaka, reports our Gazipur correspondent, quoting Konabari Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abu Siddique.
"Pintu has been working as a prison guard in the jail for three years. Earlier, he was a prison guard at Kashimpur High-Security Central Jail. While in the high-security prison, he was once suspended for supplying marijuana," said Ritesh Chakma, jailer of Kashimpur Central Jail-1.
"Pintu was handed over to Konabari Police Station last night," Ritesh added.
"Pintu Miah went through the main gate of Kashimpur Jail Complex around 8:00pm yesterday. Atiqur Rahman, the prison guard on duty there at the time, seemed suspicious of his behaviour, searched Pintu and found the yaba pills," said OC Abu Siddique.
