Police recover decapitated, dismembered body in Mohakhali

Banani police recovered a decapitated body from near Mohakhali kitchen market in Dhaka last night.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately as the killers also cut off the hands and legs of the victim.

Shanto Rahman, a sub-inspector of Banani Police Station said the body was found wrapped in a sack inside a drum near the kitchen market.

When informed by locals, police recovered the body around 9:30pm and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Police suspect that the victim was murdered elsewhere and the body was dumped near the kitchen market by the killers, the SI said.

They have not yet found the head, legs and hands of the victim, he added.

Police said they are collecting CCTV footage from nearby buildings to learn more about the incident.
