Narayanganj councillor Khorshed sued under DSA
Maksudul Alam Khandaker Khorshed, the councillor of Ward 13 in Narayanganj City Corporation who gained popularity for arranging measures to perform the last rites of anyone dying from Covid-19, irrespective of their religion, was sued under the Digital Security Act today.
Sayeda Akhter alias Sayeda Shuily (40) filed the case against Khorshed and another woman Ferdousi Akhter Rehana at the Fatullah Model Police Station accusing them of spreading offensive and slanderous stories against her on Facebook live, reports our Naryanganj correspondent quoting police.
"Shuily filed the case under DSA at 1:00 am today," Fatullah Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Kamruzzaman told The Daily Star.
"Previously, Khorshed's wife Afroza Khandaker Lune filed a GD against Shuily accusing her of blackmailing the councillor to marry her," said the OC.
"But now, Shuily said she did not blackmail Khorshed, rather, Khorshed and Rehana tarnished her image on social media," added the OC.
"We are investigating the matter. As the case was filed under DSA, we are trying to arrest the accused," OC Kamruzzaman said.
